According to the “2020 China Plumbing and Sanitary Industry Foreign Trade Development Report” released by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Minerals and Chemicals, China is the first major exporter of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment. Germany is the world’s second largest exporter of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment.
Porcelain fixed sanitary equipment refers to the sanitation and cleaning of the washroom with porcelain utensils. It includes porcelain sinks, basins, basin seats, bathtubs, bidets, flush toilets, water tanks, urinals and similar fixed sanitary equipment.
China accounts for about 85% of the global export market share of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment
China’s exports of fixed sanitary equipment made of ceramic are dominated by fixed sanitary equipment made of porcelain. In 2020, the export value of China’s fixed sanitary equipment made of ceramic was US$8.76 billion, of which the export value of fixed sanitary equipment made of ceramic was US$0.04 billion, arvestust 0.5%. The export value of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment is $8.71 billion, arvestust 99.5%, nearly 100%.
In 2020, China’s exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment were 1.67 million tons, a decrease of 3.1%. It was worth $8.71 billion, an increase of 12.4%. Its average unit price is 5.2 USD/kg, an increase of 15.9%. China’s exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment fell sharply in February 2020 due to the epidemic. Its export volume was 38,000 tons, down 74.0% from January. It was valued at US$100 million, down 78.5% from January. It then showed a month-on-month growth trend. It reached its highest point in November 2020.
Export of porcelain sanitary equipment from Germany is less than one-twentieth of that from China
Germany is the second largest exporter of porcelain sanitary equipment. Exports are much lower than in China and the export value is less than one twentieth of China’s. In 2020, German exports of porcelain sanitary equipment amounted to 70,000 tons, an increase of 6.2 percent. Its exports amounted to $390 miljonit, an increase of 8.1 percent. Its average unit price is 5.9 USD/kg, an increase of 1.8%.
In 2020, the main markets for German porcelain fixed sanitary equipment exports were the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, France, the United Kingdom, and Belgium. Its exports to Switzerland and France increased significantly.
The export volume of German porcelain fixed sanitary equipment to the Netherlands was 10,306 tons, a decrease of 8.0%. Its export value was $59.26 miljonit, down 6.0%, or 15.2%. Its average unit price was $5.8/kg, an increase of 2.2%. It exported 3,163 tons to Switzerland, an increase of 10.9%. Its export value was $48.02 miljonit, an increase of 26.7%, or 12.3%. Its average unit price was $15.2/kg, an increase of 14.3%. It exported 5,072 tons to Austria, a decrease of 13.7%. Its export value was $32.97 miljonit, up 0.8%, or 8.4%. Its average unit price was US$6.5/kg, an increase of 16.7%. It exported 7,643 tons to France, an increase of 111.8%. Its export value was US$32.08 million, an increase of 100.7%, or 8.2%. Its average unit price was US$4.2/kg, a decrease of 5.2%. Its export volume to the UK was 4,638 tons, up 6.7%. Its export value was $27.02 miljonit, down 3.1%, or 6.9%. Its average unit price was US$5.8/kg, down 9.2%. Its export volume to Belgium was 4,252 tons, a decrease of 1.1%. Its export value was $23.89 miljonit, up 0.02%, or 6.1%. Its average unit price was US$5.6/kg, up 1.2%.
In 2020, Portugal’s exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment amounted to 60,000 tons, a decrease of 19.3%. Its exports amounted to $110 miljonit, a decrease of 12.8%. Its average unit price was US$ 1.9/kg, an increase of 8.0%. India’s export volume of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment was 150,000 tons, down 12.6%. Its export value was $110 miljonit, a decrease of 7.0%. Its average unit price was $0.7/kg, an increase of 6.4%. The Czech Republic’s exports of porcelain fixed sanitary equipment were 30,000 tons, down 12.3%. Its export value was $0.9 billion, down 10.8 percent. Its average unit price was $3.2/kg, an increase of 1.8%.
