Heartland Health announces new COVID-19 testing sites coming to Peoria County
PEORIA (WEEK) – Starting April 21st, Heartland Health Services announced they will conduct COVID-19 testing at three locations. They said that testing will start based on supply delivery.
Here are the three locations:
- Heartland Health Services – 2321 N Wisconsin Ave., Peoria, IL 61604
- Hours of Operations – Mon- Friday, 9 am – 4 pm and Saturday 9 am – 12 pm.
- Peoria City/County Health Department -2116 N Sheridan Road, Peoria, IL 61604
- Hours of Operations – TBA
- Peoria Park District, John H. Gwynn Park – Located at Faucet Field Peoria, Il 61605
- Hours of Operations – TBA
To qualify for testing, Heartland Health said this is the criteria in a news release:
- High risk individuals who have COVID-19 symptoms
- People living in temporary shelters
- People with known exposure to those with a positive test or a person with symptoms
- Those older than 60 with chronic health conditions that would make them at risk for complications
- Front line workers and essential workers with symptoms. For example, health care personnel, grocery store employees, licensed child care workers, bus drivers, etc.
Heartland Health services has a COVID-19 hotline as well. that number is 309-495-8659. That hotline launches April 20th at noon.
Governor JB Pritzker announced the plan to expand testing to central and southern Illinois in a news conference Thursday. The new testing sites are in collaboration with the state, government representatives, IPHCA, the Peoria City County Health Department, the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria Park District, and AMT.
